These days we hear a lot about the dangers of chemical ingredients. It’s largely known that they have potentially harmful effects on our skin and health in general. Transitioning to nontoxic skincare products is the next step in reducing exposure to harmful toxins.
Using nontoxic skincare is a must especially if you are like me and have just started on your nontoxic lifestyle journey for yourself and your family due to multiple health issues.
Unfortunately, a lot of people do not use nontoxic skincare products or natural products in general for fear that they don’t work as well. But the truth of the matter is that over time, using chemical-based treatments can be detrimental for your health.
So the advice I have for anyone trying to make a decision is to simply just to try it and see what it does for you.
I can almost guarantee that you won’t be disappointed by the results.
She believes that clean beauty is for everyone and her mission is to share it with as many people as possible.
The Founder of Follain
Tara Foley (my name is also Tara!) started her clean beauty journey over 10 years ago after realizing her healthy lifestyle had a huge blind spot: she was exercising and eating clean, but she had no idea what she was putting on her body.
That was when she discovered all the toxins hiding inside her beauty products.
She left her corporate job, started a blog, shared information and received an inspiring response from so many women that had the same concern. She hunted down the best products and even moved to France to work on an organic lavender farm – amazing right?
She eventually opened her store where she could educate and introduce people to the safest, most effective, luxurious and nontoxic skincare products.
Follain opened in 2013: the first retailer to sell clean beauty exclusively.

What I like about Follain is that they ensure every ingredient in their products is not harmful and does not have a negative impact on our health. You will never find the following ingredients in any products carried at Follain stores.
I’ve listed a few of those prohibited ingredients but you can see the full list here.

When I first started with my clean beauty journey and I read the possible negative health effects, I was a bit scared and became super cautious. Now, my mission is not to create fear but to educate so we as consumers can make informed decisions for ourselves and our families.
Our skin is an investment, not an expense.
Follain Skincare Collection – A Review
So I’ve been using Follain’s nontoxic skincare products from their collection – which were gifted to me – for about a couple of weeks now.
I want to share with you my experience and a detailed review of these products.
Ideal Skin Types | Combination, Dry, and Normal
Benefits | Anti-Aging & Hydrating
I’ve been using this mask almost every other day. I have more time in the evening so I leave it on for about 30 minutes. The cream is quite delicate and there is no greasy feeling afterward.
I have sensitive skin, so sometimes moisturizers will cause texture or redness, but this is perfect. My skin is moist and radiant every morning. I’m definitely a fan of this one!
Ideal Skin Types | Combination, Dry, Normal, and Oily Skin
Benefits | Detoxifying, Hydrating and Nourishing
I personally do not use a lot of makeup, I’m all about taking care of my skin to look my best. So using a cleanser that deeply cleans to remove dirt and excess oil is a must and this hydrating cleanser does exactly that.
I mainly use this cleanser at bedtime because it helps clean up well and doesn’t leave my face dry and feels really smooth. It’s very gentle yet effective and it does not leave my skin tight or weighed down afterward.
No synthetic fragrances instead essential oils are used such as Tangerine peel oil. It has a subtle scent which is very light and enjoyable.
Ideal Skin Types | Combination, Dry, and Normal
Benefits | Anti-Aging, Hydrating
I’m SO picky with moisturizers! My go-to moisturizer was either from Victoria’s Secret or Clinique which were full of toxic ingredients. Well, those products I no longer use but have found my new favorite moisturizer. Follain’s nontoxic moisturizer is the most gentle, effective moisturizer I have ever found.
I actually got compliments on my skin by my husband (yes, he is paying attention!) I really believe much of it can be contributed to this moisturizer because it just soaks in like magic.
With Rosehip Oil, Moringa leaf extract and Squalane, it is jam-packed with nontoxic skin-loving ingredients that nourish the skin and a little goes a long way.
Ideal Skin Types | Combination, Dry, Normal, and Oily
Benefits | Anti-Aging, Dark Circles, Elasticity, Hydrating and Puffiness
I have dark circles and it has brightened up my eye area and I’m honestly very surprised as I have paid much more for popular eye creams in the past that have done so much less – not to mention those products had toxic ingredients.
Super smooth and light, my skin drinks it up right away and my makeup foundation goes on much nicer with a more flawless result. I haven’t been using it long enough to notice any effects on my wrinkles, but it can’t hurt to moisturize without using harsh chemicals.
